Is this the site of where Bithells waste is?? That building they use is an old brewery. Just wondering if its the same!

It is where Bithell's is now, Tim.
The 1893 OS map shows the Victoria Brewery backing on to the Leigh branch of the cut, at that location.

On google maps Tim the white building on the left seems to be the same, but with limited visual access not able to determine for sure if the larger building, presumably the brewery itself, is the same. The whole scene is quite different but as is the case these days it's not always for the better.

Well spotted folks-this is now Bithells Waste. We love the history and have the same photo hanging in the office.

I have in my possession a beer bottle of this brewery which is very well embossed.

I also have a bottle from the Airey’s brewery which I discovered when digging up an old school playground for resurfacing in Roehampton SW London around 20+ years ago. The bottle is in perfect condition considering where it was found.
