Hi Stevie! Used to slide around on the Fishponds when they were frozen over,in the 50s......happy memories.....cheers!!!

Yes Lizzie, I`ve walked on the fish ponds several times when they were frozen. Lot of people were ice skating. I only roller skated on pavements!

Inn the 80s I saw a fisherman walking accross in the water, its only about waist deep, it used to be run by Wigan Centre fishing association, but they had a dispute and I dont think it was ever resolved,It was about a retaining wall at the bottom end of the lake.
