The late Steeplejack Fred Dibnah would love to have demolished that chimney...maybe he did it.

Nah, this was a dynamite job. Fred knew about the chimney as he said 'It had a lovely top'. But alas, no he didn't knock it down.

I have a couple of hundred pictures taken in the Wigan area in the early 80's. They are mostly of colliery remains,if anyone is interested in down loading them or if there is a quicker way I can put them onto this site please get in touch.
