A bit less of the spire in this photo, spotted whilst mooching on Preston Market today. Recognised it as St Matthew's Highfield, so knew what the subject was from earlier pics to this site.
I think the prints may have been rejects from a newspaper photographer's output. Hope the photographer spots this and receives the credit due.

David: Many thanks for posting this and the other photo of the Pemberton OCCS. The site would have been working in the mid to late 1980s. This photo very clearly shows the Pemberton Yard seam, which was at the base of the main exavation area.
