Remember being stood on canal bank at Poolstock at that time, took the dog's over that area yesterday all overgrown now.

Great shot. I was there that morning along with thousands of others although never saw the detonation point due to concentrating on getting my own photo's.

What a cracking shot! I was there too that morning but on the Poolstock lane end of the old railway line.

My dad worked at Westwood for many years.He was there that day with my mum.They lived on Poolstock Lane.

Anne, did your dad know Bill Jolley when he worked there? He's my Uncle, and I believe he was the manager of Westwood up until the mid 80s (I think). He then moved job working at a different power station, which I think was in Manchester.

The power stations are what I blew up I was the second to take the plunge.
