A sin to have demolished such a stunning building. The architecture is on a par with Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. I reckon it should have been preserved. Maybe it would have been saved in this century.

I totally agree with Ronny. The shell of the building was superb and it would have made a fantastic museum or place to hold concerts, etc. Wigan council and its "confederates"seem to really enjoy destroying Wigan's heritage. Just look at the wrong they did by demolishing one of the finest buildings we had in Wigan - Notre dame school in Standishgate.
