Not forgetting Horrock`s temperance bar opposite and his hot vimto

I remember the Temperance bar in the 1960's, it used to be my grandfathers butchers shop some time before that. His name was William Holt. I also remember the Grapes pub, which used to have a shoe repairers business next door to it.

Remember the shoe repairs being there, was still there in the 70s then I think Mick Steele converted it to flats.

I remember the Tarzan serials every Saturday afternoon, in the late 40's. They knew how to keep us coming back

Remember going to Horrocks for a drink and the Majestic, good days.

Remember it well. Horrocks across the road used to serve sarsaprilla out of a stoneware jug with a tap on the front. Old sort of time warp place from another era.

Watched the Beatles film 'Help' there!! 1965??
