Rathen Avenue. This is what happens when mams get re-housed from a terrace and find a bit of grass outside the back door. First bit of sunshine and the chairs are out - the kids come home from school and no tea ready and no ice lollies left either.

Remember the advert?....."What could be nicer than a Pendleton's 'Twicer'?... Ice-Cream with a lolly each end". Or aren't you old enough to remember that, dk?!

I can't say that I do remember th'advert Irene. You aft be careful 'cos if you think about things long enough you can grow a memory. I do remember the lollies. It wasn't so bad though: any one of these Mams would be happy to let you have their lollystick to suck on when they'd done!

I remember too the Ferretti's ice-cream vans. They sold a threepenny ice-lolly in pastel shades with the top half dipped in chocolate.
