I like the shadow of one on the other Tom. Beautiful composition and perspective again.

Great picture Tom. Just as I remember it from when I was a boy. Thanks.

Absolute fab' picture! Can make out most of the mill chimneys from left to right. May Mill to the left and, Empress Ince, to the right! I cannot make out the one that is smoking. Anyone help?

Great photo, used to fish in that corner of the Flash around early 70,s I recall there used to be an outlet from the cooling towers that fed into the Flash at that point.

Great picture.
Is that St James Church I can see?
Just trying to get my bearings for a scouser who has worked in Wigan for 20 years, love photos like this.

Paula... yes it is. Just over to the left is the Scotsmans Flash. I am assuming Rainfords was still going when this was taken, and that would be over to the right.

Early 70s...I'd had a nightmare trip on a train from Southampton. Was staring through the carriage window looking for a Wigan landmark. The cooling towers came into view. Home at last!

this picture brings back so many good memory's of a time when everything in life was so simple, as a boy growing up fishing most weekend on these waters. When I look at this picture it feels like those day have come back. Fantastic.
