this is a picture of Hindley L & Y Railway's football team in 1921 my dad who had the same name as me Jimmy Dunne is on it he died in Dec 1945 at the age of 56 (I was only 9 years of age)i don't know any of the others as i hadn't been born then

hi john b my dad is the one in the big cap the one that isn't in football strip he was on duty as a signal man and had no time to change he never went anywhere without his cap even to the toilet he'd put his cap on me i can't wear one

jimmy did you know if every station had a footy team,the railway certainly employed plenty of men for one station to have a team
