Ron. Did the shop on the corner, sell womens undies vests etc. Along with other habadashery items

The shop on the right was Ted Browns - Its where you went for wellies in winter and sandals in summer. You could buy anything in the shop from vests and knickers to pinnys.
Ted Brown was a white haired old man and his wife also served in the shop. I liked going into the shop with my mam because it meant I might be getting something new to wear - even if it was just socks!

I believe that shop was not Brown's I think it was Wilding's, you were right about the old man and his wife, they had a daughter named Dorothy.

Old Scholser I was born in 1946 and during that time until the Post Office took over the shop it was always known as 'Ted Browns'.....it was a brilliant shop to go in. Original floorboards and goods hung up everywhere. He sold most items of clothing.
