How old fashioned the traffic lights seem, I remember the old people used to refer to traffic lights as Electric Bobbys! times were more innocent ,in their younger days.

The tree to the left of the bus is still here today.

My bedroom was next to top on the side of Woodcock House. The front room window looked over the railway bridge. Hard to tell if the new baths had been built but they opened in 1968. We moved in Woodcock house 64/65 so that sort of dates the picture

On further reflection the chimney to the right is part of the baths.

I remember a bobbie on point duty at this crossing, cant remember when traffic lights where installed.i was once caught and taken to the bobbie and blamed for breaking a window in the WIGAN ARMS pub, iwas not guilty.it must have been about 1950.
