What a pity that the historic, beautiful and lavish, by today's standards, old hall layout was replaced by such a characterless space.
When the scouts used it on Friday evenings in the sixties it was a much grubbier building certainly not as clean as it looks in this photo

The scoutmasters at the Queens Hall in the 1960’s were Fraser Platt and Derek Stott. Both admirable men who freely gave their time to help and guide us youths in that period of life when it is easy to go astray. I have remembered both of them all my life and have a lot to thank them for.
