HELLO, DO YOU KNOW WHAT YEAR THIS PIC.WAS.MY GGG/FATHER HAD A CLOGGERS AT NO.89 ORMSKIRK RD IN 1881 IS THIS THE SAME AREA PLEASE?
Judging by the street furniture and tramlines, I should say this was taken in the 1920s. The address you are interested in would have been about 300 yards away, closer to Wigan, between Scot Lane and the 'Saddle' junction.
the cloggers was harry mellings.jcrk4
The picture could double for two spots ,
1, could be looking up towards the Carnegie library from about what was called "union bridge". but
2. For me it is definitely looking up towards crossraods at enfield st and mount zion at the back of the camera man would be the half way house hotel as for the tram line anytime from early 20s to as late as the mid 50s I lived back of camera on left at 460 ormskirk road.
I walked to school from 392 Ormskirk rd to st marks and this is looking up from union bridge
