Comment by: peter on 18th November 2010 at 19:10

i don,t think you changed many with the #dodger;

Comment by: ASPULLER on 18th November 2010 at 19:19

This is wiganworld. Not St Helens world..This photo has NOTHING to do with Wigan

Comment by: Rev David Long on 18th November 2010 at 20:39

Well, apart from committing the cardinal sin of entitling his pic, however hesitantly, 'st hhelens', I thought, how wonderful that lads from Wigan have to over to St Helens to fix their railways for them.

Comment by: John on 19th November 2010 at 08:14

Wigan played an important part to the railways in the northwest, so there is a connection to St Helens.

Comment by: ASPULLER on 19th November 2010 at 08:58

So in that, that would mean people can put pictures of all the towns from Leeds to Liverpool on the site. As Wigan played a part in the L&L canal system. What a load of tosh.
Is it any wonder a lot of the original members don't come on the site anymore.

Comment by: John on 19th November 2010 at 09:29

If it has a Wigan connection yes.

Comment by: ASPULLER on 19th November 2010 at 11:03

JOHN. This is "WIGAN WORLD" Every town in the country probably can claim some connection to Wigan i.e. My uncle's second cousin once removed lives in Basingstoke. So we start putting pictures of Basingstoke on the site. Barrow played Wigan in the R.L. Cup final in the 1950's so we start putting pictures of Barrow on the site.
WHO from Wigan (Unless you are some Railway geek) is interested in seeing a picture of a train in St Helens?????????

Comment by: John on 19th November 2010 at 11:24

As I said before, if it has a Wigan connection, I dont see a problem....ie, Wiganers in Blackpool, that's a Wigan connection.

Comment by: Bob on 19th November 2010 at 11:34

The train and driver will almost certainly be from springs branch, Wigan.

Comment by: WIGANER on 19th November 2010 at 11:34

Aspuller is trying to say that probably 90% of the towns in England has some Wigan connection no matter how obtuse. So you're advocating we start putting pictures of every town on the site??????????????

Comment by: WIGANER on 19th November 2010 at 11:41

Ha Ha Ha I've heard it all now. The driver of the train PROBABLY comes from Springs Branch. Lets put pictures of EVERY FAMILY in the U.K. on the site as Probably they have a tin of Heinz soup in their kitchen which was made in Wigan.
Some people will do anything to get a photo on the site .

Comment by: John on 19th November 2010 at 13:45

Heinz only produce baked beans here in Wigan, infact 1.5 million tins a day, now that's what I call a Wigan connection.

Comment by: Paul Cross on 19th November 2010 at 14:09

Obviously some people are just born to moan about things no matter how insignificant, good picture Kev.

Comment by: Dave Tomlinson on 19th November 2010 at 14:21

there's a lot of scrap there kev we'll get down there this week and cut it up and maybe do about 10 wet beds and a bit of boxing off.

Comment by: ASPULLER on 19th November 2010 at 14:24

No matter how good or how bad the picture is
It has NOTHING TO DO WITH WIGAN.
Read the title of this website... WIGANworld
Check out all the Topics on the site. THEY ARE ABOUT WIGAN.
If you look on websites about other towns. They are about THAT town. Not a town 12 miles away.
99.99999% of the population of Wigan aren't interested in pictures of St Helens and vica versa.
If you want to show photos of other towns why not start a web site i.e St Helensworld. I'm sure there would be more interest there than here.

Comment by: Wiganer on 19th November 2010 at 14:30

Aspuller why don't you wind your neck in and start an Aspull website, there you can moan and give negative opinions on a whole host of things!!!!

Comment by: Rev David Long on 19th November 2010 at 15:16

If you look back only a couple of weeks we had a whole series put up by Dave Taylor on the overhead lines training school, most of which featured Wigan crews working away from their home base. Perhaps starting a new heading under 'Places' for St Helens is going a bit far, but this pic certainly has its precedents elsewhere on the site (Wiganers on holiday in various places, for instance).

Comment by: ASPULLER on 19th November 2010 at 15:17

No need to start an Aspull website. Aspull is in Wigan.

Comment by: Bob on 19th November 2010 at 15:25

I've never heard as much rubbish in all my life. Aspuller, Wiganer and the Rev need to get a life.

Comment by: George F. on 19th November 2010 at 15:38

"Heinz only produce baked beans here in Wigan,"
You have lost me?????????????????????

Comment by: Bob on 19th November 2010 at 16:05

George you are very easily lost, Heinz factory in Kit-green produce Tomato soups and other foods, but the main production line in baked beanz since 1959.

Comment by: George F. on 19th November 2010 at 16:13

I was asking What has that comment, made by John, got to do with this picture? I worked at Heinz at one time. I know what they make.!!!!

Comment by: John on 19th November 2010 at 16:22

To George, read Wiganers comments (11th down) I was replying to his silly comment. regards John.

Comment by: dave b on 19th November 2010 at 17:30

some will aspull is not in wigan but in aspull

Comment by: Ken on 19th November 2010 at 19:08

Calm down everybody. Let's keep it simple and keep it Wigan.

Comment by: JohnB on 19th November 2010 at 19:12

Look it's simple. I was born in Wigan, I visit the wiganworld site to see items about Wigan. I have a family none of whom were born in Wigan, I'd never dream of putting any of them on the site, they've no connection with the town.

Comment by: tony on 19th November 2010 at 20:33

aspull is not in wigan more like bolton

Comment by: George F. on 19th November 2010 at 20:59

Ask the people who live in Aspull if they live in Wigan or Bolton. Which authority do they pay their council tax to?
You can say Aspull is in Preston if you want to. Dosen't mean it is.

Comment by: Rev David Long on 19th November 2010 at 21:37

Sorry, Bob - I thought we were on the same side.

Comment by: helen B. on 19th November 2010 at 22:02

I agree with ASPULLER and WIGANER. Just seen the photos put on by Dougie. Lets see more of these, not other towns pictures

Comment by: Dave Johnson on 20th November 2010 at 21:57

Sorry but I thought all the backstabbing was reserved for the Forum and Communicate sections, obviously wrong. The words Mountain and Molehill spring to mind?
