Ranson's Mill can be viewed bottom left. A few players can just be made out on the pitch I believe my father, who signed in 1938, might be amongst them. I have a photo which I will put on site which I think shows the same group.

Apart from Standishgate running along the top of the photo there's Colin Street and Douglas Road, top right.
Water Heyes Cotton Mill (bottom left) with Westminster Street (where George Formby lived) running parallel with the Douglas Stand with Portland Street to the left and Burlington Street to the right.
