The old carpet, which was fitted in the 1960s, was lifted during 2009, revealing the Minton floor tiles in the Sanctuary, Chancel and Nave for the first time in a generation. Unfortunately, there are places where the carpet has caused irreparable damage to the tiles. The carpet was laid because the 'church was too noisy'! Amazing that something so beautiful was covered up in the first place!
