Got it Frank, taken off liverpool road looking over before they built the houses at townfields and moved the path between the house's
Thats it Dougie,spot on.
What is that on the horizon towards the left of the picture? It looks like a tower - any idea what it is.
hi Karin it could have been the chimney on Ashton Baths maybe
only a guess, I would say it could be the old Ashton baths in Old Road
hi Karin
I have just found these pictures by accident and just couldn't believe them!!! How beautiful!
After looking at this picture again, could this be the big Oak tree in front of the big house just at the side of the 2nd road into Alderton Drive? (Woodedge)
Yorkshire Dales ?
Peak District ?
No ... Ashton !
After looking at both trees on Liverpool Road I am pretty sure that it is the second Oak tree going up the road as it is still slanting now!! I went further up the other day and spoke to the man who lives in Worthington Farm, the line of Horse Chestnut trees still follow the old road, and there is one of the widest trees I have seen in this area, I commented on it and he said that he is thinking of having it taken down!!!!
This could be Yorkshire I agree. Sad to see so much of the countryside and fields here have dissappeared all thanks to greedy developers and overcrowding. If they had there own way there would be no Skitters Wood left, no Ashton Heath, and no Three Sisters park for people to enjoy. All there would be is house after house and big profits to be made. Then people wonder why the younger generation have nowhere to go & nothing to do.
