This is Skitters Wood taken in circa 1915. I think it might be where Woodedge is now. Can any WW readers identify the exact are in Skitters? The telegraph pole might give some clues ?

I dont remember the telegraph pole being there in the 1940's but the bridge that you can see just past the pole is still there along the path from Townfields Ave

The skittering wood can be entered from downfall green , woodedge, or rugby streett
