I remember my parents telling me that they used to go to dances at the Baths pre WW2. Apparently a dance floor was laid over the pool, it must have been quite secure to accommodate all those people dancing.

My uncle worked at Wigan Wagon Works They had the children's Christmas Parties there. He ad no children so I went ..I remember one Christmas I must have been about 6 or 7 so 1951 or 52? I got a set of plastic space men figures as a present from there. I played with them for months after, if not years. Imagination is a wonderful thing when you are young.
