This series of images came from Mrs Glynne Buckley, whose grandfather, Thomas Banks, was the Manager at Pearson & Knowles' Moss Pit. He lived in the Hall during the period covered (1914-35).
In 1915 the Revd. Samuel Bryson was inducted as Vicar of St Mary's Church, and soon after the house was subdivided into three dwellings. The Banks family lived in the left-hand section - the window at ground level there being made into a doorway. The Vicar lived in the centre section, ans Aunty Farrimond lived in the right-hand section. The steps presumably went down into the dried-up moat area.

My friend's great-aunt, Sarah Langford, used to clean for Rev. Bryson, and also used to clean those two chapels in Ince Cemetery.

I lived in one part of the hall for 10 years and have a lot of memories of my time in Lower Ince.
