Stephen sent me a clearer, and cleaner, copy of this pic, which we've used in St Mary's 2010 Calendar featuring railway scenes from the Parish. The caption for the pic reads: Patricroft-based, Jubilee Class 5668 “Madden”, polished up for Wigan’s 1948 Wembley Final posed at Springs Branch. Built 1935, scrapped 1963.
Barry, look in Assorted/Unknown/Page 4. That is where all the comments reside.
The woman on the front row right is my late cousin Gladys Mosley she worked in the shed canteen
The young chap in the middle of the front row, with is hands on the shoulders of the smaller chap, is my uncle Len Austin.
