The date is certainly not 1979 is it? Looks more like 1879 !

With the creels of spun yarn at the back, it looks more like loading the warp on the drum, ready for weaving, than Spinning ;o)

You are right. The date 1979 referred to the photo above, May Mill itself, which should have been cut off in this scan.

Art, perhaps it was Enfield Mill? Wasn't that weaving?
