My Grandad and Nan are buried their sir name was "Myers" also My Auntie Lilly and Uncle Billy their sir name was "Hopson" I was told uncle Billy used to play the organ in a church but it wasn't Hightfield. Auntie Beryl is also buried here her sir name was "Bradshaw".

I believe the iron church was inspired by Mrs Blundell wife of the colliery owner.
I read that she was a keen churchgoer and wanted to provide a place of worship mainly for the colliers children,I think this iron church was also used as a classroom to educate the children.
