Is this the entrance to Dean Wood from the path that led down the side of the Orrell Legion?

I've been wondering the same thing. Looking at the picture it could well be but then it could be at the bottom en dof the woods.

My grandad Walter Greenhalgh had a "caravan"on Balls farm bottom field by canal,I spent most of my childhood there in the 1940s.Entrance to Dean woods was at side of Duckworths shop under railway bridge.
