March 1980. I believe it was demolished in June 1980.

Look at this photo closeley, you can see another station platform. (Bottom right corner) Did Pemberton Station have FOUR sections of track in its hayday?

There were sidings from Blundell's Pemberton Colliery joining up with the main line.

Remember walking over that bridge as a very young child when my mum used to go to Wigan on the train

i remember in the spring /summer of 1961 my mother & dad walking from walpole ave very early in the morn over coal tips onto and over twenty steps to pem station catching the special train to wembley to my first challenge cup final (wigan v st helens ) on the train waiting for us was my uncle john and auntie maggie that photo brought a lot of memories back,by the way my uncle&auntie supported saints they had a good day mine was a bit sad ner mind.
