Crooke's first church - built in 1845 as a church of England Mission Hall and School. Closed 50 years later owing to land subsidence.

The building has now sunk, all of it is underground - the building at the rear to the right is the Owd Barn which still exists.

I remember my Great Uncle, Thomas Rhead talking about seeing this sunken school in the 1920's. When it finally disappeared, I don't know.

yes the old barn his still there now been converted into a loverly house and the houses in the back ground are called the butter row on standish lower road

The building was on the field between the marina and The Royal oak
