Bricklayers Arms, 31 January 1988.
My Great-Grandfather James Paxton was landlord of this pub in the early 1920’s. I have a pewter tankard from the.pub.
He was the hair man of the Licensed Victualers and an Alderman of Wigan.
James Paxton was also my great grandfather and I am researching our family history.
He was also landlord of the Swan and Railway Arms Wallgate in 1894 , and Eckersley Arms Poolstock from 1895.
