Old property in Standishgate, typical of Wigan property and streets in the late 1800's, The building on the right looks like it is a Public House?
Can anyone shed any light on where about this is on Standishgate? I’m trying to find any old photographs from around 1891 time but of Wigan Lane really, next to the Bowling Green to be honest. I’ve found that my Great Grandad lived at 108 Wigan Lane and it was a hairdressers/ barbers I believe, next door to the Bowling Green, currently a closed down clothes shop called WKD I believe. I can’t find any photographs of this end around that time but would love to see some if there are any out there? I’m currently stalking any old photos from Standishgate and Wigan lane around that time ????
