A very rare picture showing the Total Abstinence Hall or the Mission Hall which stood near the bottom of Greenough Street near to the River Douglas. It was originally built in 1894. It was demolished in 1966 to make way for the new development of the area. The people involved, with the hall, built a new building in Norley Hall Avenue.

Ron, are the buildings behind the hall the ones in Water Heyes. I used to pass this place every night coming home from school in the 50s. The hall, as far as I remember, was behind a high boarded fence and so was largely hidden from view.
