Taken from the old rail bridge at the top of Walthew Lane, before it was taken down.

In the foreground with the banner are the Ladies of the 'First Steps' mums and toddler group from St Nathaniel's Church.

Excellent stuff. If I had a pound for every time I have cycled up that ruddy hill to the depot at Springs Branch I would be a rich man indeed! Even got a B.R "Gamecock" in the background, which looks suspiciously like one of the Overhead Line department Fords.Who knows i might even have been the "wheel man" that day!

Another good photo Dennis, thats my ex-wife Sharon 3rd right from the banner (pointing), she used to run the first steps toddler group back then.

I can't beleive how much the place has changed!! I moved to Platt Bridge 5 years ago to the George Wimpey estate which was built on the old CWS Glassworks Site. It seemed like a busy place. It's a pity all the shops have gone, but I guess that's the sign of the times!
