I recollect at the extreme end, to the left, there was a shop, that had a spit in their front window, slowly turning, and roasting a chicken. This would have been in the early sixties.

Albert that was PERCIVALS. The best chicken butties I have ever had with out a doubt. I can smell that chicken now ummmmmmmm

I was walking past the shop that Albert refers to with my two day old Son,when one of the women came running out and said"I've just told my Husband that girl walked by with a big tummy the other day and now there it is in the Pram"..some things you never forget.
