Wigan Album

It was a shame they destroyed part of the old Wigan. The man who was responsible for the Grand Arcade doesn't work in Wigan now. He probably went on to destroy the history of another town.

Did anyone see this road in the 1990's?
It was an absolute eyesore.

Woolworths was to the left. Used to catch the 22 to see my sister, who worked in the cafe in woolworths

Before Waring & Gillow's in the 1950's there used to be a department store that ran the length of Station Road, I think it was Poole's, I had a cousin that worked there, on my way home from St John's School I called in and she took me to see Father Christmas, what a treat.
