Alice was a character the lady on the left was Freda Cullen and I think the lady hiding her face is that Mrs Townley.
yes you are right, the one on the right is nelly townley. alice was my nan, she was the life and sole of alma hill when she was alive. she died in 1985 and we all still think of her.

Alice Winstanley was my motherinlaw when I married her son Derek in 1981. She was a wonderful woman and we are all so proud of her
