This is my dad and i love him very much.He has never changed he is still making us laugh.
Margaret, your Dad used to send me out in the van delivering the loading notes for the warehouses out in Burscough and Warrington. He would give me directions such as turn left at the Pig and Poker, drive on for a few miles and right at the Bullet and Trumpet. Of course these pubs never existed, it was red face time when I had to pull over and ask a local where the Pig Poker was !! I smile and think of Billy every time I pass the Bull and Dog in Burscough on the main road ( he had a few names for that pub as well)
got a picture o bill and my brother releasing me . from a pre wedding prank . happy days .
my dad says he remebers it well very happy days.if anyone has any more stories about my dad please post them.
owd Billy looked after me - took me under his wing, if it was not for Billy then I would have been on that production line dropping bottles / jars - he let me fill out paperwork for his drivers & then I was lucky enough to be picked to look after the stocks in the warehouse, me Billy- Littel Joe & Braddy with all the Lads - Walshy, Jemmy & Kieron had a great time. Billy in particular taught me a great deal & I owe him lots for that.I was a young 18 year old at the time & I knew nothing. Many thanks owd lad ..
billy is my next door neighbour and is a living legend always makes me laugh and i love listening to his stories of when he was working in the glassworks and when he was a long distance lorry driver
