Fascinating Picture. I was born in 1947 at a house in Silverdale which would be in the bottom left hand corner of this picture. It was bought brand new in the 1920's by my paternal grandfather when he came down from Cumberland to work for the Wigan Electric Company. The house remained in the family until the late 1970's.

Is that Walkden Avenue running through the centre of the photo?

Kenyon Road running through the middle. Walkden Avenue going left to right, Halls bakery bottom right.

It looks like Kenyon Road to me with Walkden Avenue to the right. Although it doesn't look like todays Walkden Avenue as it seems to come to a dead end? The photo could have been taken before Walkden Avenue was fully developed?

Walkden is to the right of the crossroads with Kenyon Rd running straight on into the town centre
