A Jim Stones bus from Leigh at the bus station,
prior to it being rebuilt not long back

Jim Stones bus and coach no longer exist.

We see Jim Stones' buses regularly in Leigh so if they've finished running it's only recently. I'm sure we saw one last week. Perhaps they only run in Leigh now.

Yes Arthur, Jim Stones buses ceased trading earlier this year after 52 years of excellent service.
Their fleet of buses were always clean and smart.

Irene, I understand that the Jim Stones fleet of buses have
been sold. I saw one last week on route 4 in Norley Hall,
and also one that was freshly painted showing the name of
Warringtons on the bodywork. Not to be confused with the town of Warrington. A regular bus expert, MR X, who puts
accurate info on here will probably know much more. Ray.

And not a single CCTV camera to be seen; how did we ever manage without them before this "terrorism" fear mongering. The station is completely soulless now, devoid of character and charm, and you feel like you're in a prison with the staff walking around like little Hitler's with body cams attached to their chests.

Remember the old Leigh bus staion in the 1960s that was almost on the same site where you would see blue Leigh Corporation, red Lancashire United, and green Salford City Transport buses, on rare occasions a maroon Bolton, but almost never a crimson Wigan bus. There used to be a gasholder about here, and a big methodist church that went about 1970.

Mr X I have memories of Bolton buses being chocolate and cream rather than maroon ?

Carolaen if you look on flickr you'll see Bolton transport had a few alternative liveries
