I would guess that this is from an earlier period (40s/early 50s perhaps) than the other photographers of Marks and Spencer. The font of the name Marks & Spencer on the other pics seems more modern than that on this.
Derek, It could be slightly earlier than what you suggest. 'M&S in Scotland' shows the 1935 Ayr branch to have had frontage identical to that shown here. And that Mr Marks looked pretty sharp too - a Toscanini type of guy, Spencer more Caruso.
