Nans Nook footbridge -close to Forton Services 27-11-1964.

This photograph was taken after the concrete carriageways had been laid and shows Nans Nook footbridge not quite completed. Now 55 years later (11/01/2020) this bridge is being demolished because it is too low for today's high sided vehicles at the hard-shoulders.It carried a local footpath over the M6 and was constructed by L.Fairclough & Sons. This is why the M6 between Preston & Lancaster is totally closed this weekend. #31433 on the album (M6 motorway) was photographed from this footbridge.

Correction to last bit of sentence, what I meant to say was that on #31433 photo the columns of the footbridge can be seen on the curve.A senior moment hit me!!
