I worked in the Victoria (Vic) back in 1999-2000 as a glass collector. I appreciate it was a few years down the line from this photo but I remember the bar area as it was. The pub was run by John & Trish Parkinson who also ran the Embargo further up Wallgate. They left Wigan and both pubs while I was still working there to take over a pub in Blackpool. The Vic was an awesome pub 20 years ago and was the in place to be on a Saturday night. I do remember the place deteriorated rapidly after a couple of different managers took over and it ended up as Brunells, which served pints at £1.50. Now the site of McColls convenience store I believe.
