I referred to 2 Ribble DP vehicles in the last picture, they were 899 and 900, buses fitted with
coach seats, and a luggage boot. This is 900, seen
at the Ribble bus station in Hope Street, Wigan.

Ray, I can't remember Ribble ever being in this red and white livery. Was it across the whole fleet at one time or only in limited numbers?

DerekB, Ribble and Standerwick had hundreds of coaches in the red and cream livery. Blackpool and Aintree depots had
large numbers of coaches because of the long distance routes
they covered. For example, X24 Liverpool to Torquay, which
was a joint service with Black & White Motorways from Cheltenham. Ribble depot at Wigan had 899 and 900, which
were used from Easter until October on local express routes,
St Helens to Morecambe and Widnes to Blackpool. They were
used on local services as and when required. Regards, Ray.

Thanks, Ray. Remember Standerwick in this livery.

The standard Ribble single decker in the 1960s was the Leyland Leopard with over 500, most were buses, many were coaches and there were also some dual purpose like this one, 900 classed as a bus in different livery that had coach seats generally suited for medium distance express routes, but 900 is on the Wigan to Preston via Leyland 113 route.
