The WPC on the far right has lapel badges similar to those seen in the pic of the Inspection - so I assume she is the Wigan Officer who compiled the album.
On the back it says the course was a '1st Year Refresher Intermediate', led by Inspector James W Haslemere - whom I assume to be the bearded officer in the centre.
The other WPC is Renee Milner of Blackpool Borough Police.

Rev David, I wonder how these officers would find todays style of policing ?. No 'Evening All' these days, almost combat uniforms with sturdy track shoes and kitted out with all kinds of equipment, lapel radios and a belt that seems to carry every gadget there is. I can't remember the last time I saw a police officer wearing one of those police helmets that can be seen in this picture. How times have changed, its a risky occupation now and no doubt. I have nothing but admiration for todays cops. (wonder if they still have the whistle attached to one of those chains)

Yes that is Ina at the end

Ina died aged 83 in 2016 - which would mean she was born in 1933, so was 22 when this photograph was taken. If Richard Bilsborough is in the 1921 pic from Red Rock School, he would have been born around 1916. Quite an age gap.

Rev Long - I did a bit of digging, and it would appear he was born in 1918.

Mick - can you email me whatever information about his family you've managed to find, please?
I've already found his sister Winifred married a PC William Boardman at Haigh in 1930, when they were 23. That gave me their father Thomas' name.

Will do, Rev Young.
