Albert might be able to date it - but this pic is followed by a Training College one - and then some WW2 Army pics - from which I'm assuming he joined the Police pre-war, and then served in the Army for the duration.

Reverend. I do remember there being an Insp. Bilsborough, but now at eighty five, and after serving twenty four years in the Kent Police, my memory of him is vague. Aubrey is your man to furnish far better information.

Reverend. Your assumption is highly likely to be correct as he isn’t wearing any medal ribbons, and later photographs shows him wearing them. Many years ago I was told something, whether it is fact, or fiction, I have never been able to ascertain. If a police officer was conscripted during the war, because of his conditions of service, he received his police remuneration, in addition to his service pay. True, or false, I have no idea.

Yes I did know him but only as inspector. These photos are prior to 1960, the year I joined.
