We are not sure what the celebration is. Possibly the Coronation. My mother Doris Heaton (Atherton) and her sister Elsie (Burke) are in the picture. Late 1940 - 1955 possibly. We would really like to know more about it and any memories people may have.

The hairstyles and clothing look more like 1930's, could it be George V1 Coronation in 1937?

Could possibly be. That would have made my mother around 17.

I think this is pre 1950. My mother Kathleen Bradshaw nee Garner is on this photo and as far as I know she didn't go back to work after I was born. I was born in February 1950.

Coronation of George V1 was May 1937.

The girl with her arm on the bench in the foreground looks strangely familiar. One of the Rimmers?
