You may be able to see a bit more of the diggers now,well if not I've tried to get closer so you can see what kind the diggers are.

Opencast ! open cab on the Cat D 8 as well, the operator had to suffer all kinds of weather out in the open, rain, snow hail or blow, TUFF MEN they were.

I worked with many of the Dozer drivers in later years and lots were wracked with arthritis etc. after spending hours driving in a types of weather. We have to remember that without these guys we would still be driving around country lanes. Lots made the journey across the Irish Sea to drive all types of machinery.
