Remember the conifers planted which are now about 40ft high near sainsburys.

Remember when it was British Celanese, and the railway, (Pemberton branch of the Lancashire Union Line) at its Southern boundary, the bridge: I think the deck went circa 1950, but parapets remained for about another one and a half decades, either side of the narrow, then single carriageway A49. There is a photo of said bridge on the WW site, somewhere.

Parapets parapets? Sorry, should have said abutments, Don't know what came over me there.

Looks like a very early picture of the site (newly planted flower beds) I did 16 years there, finishing in 1988.

Total fitness now stands on the right of this photo ; turning left off the A49 into glass house rd the embankment of the colliery railway can be seen in front of you

There was a farm on the car park in 1960,anyone remember the farm also Reeds had a football pitch across the road in the 60s

Hi Ray
Well done again with aerial photo of the site that Reed became. Yes Dougie
I remember a farm on the left in 1959 until it was knocked down we had nowhere to park the extra trunk vehicles that started up in late 1960 so we had to park around 10 eight wheelers and two artics and their trailers up at the Cranbury hotel on Sat/Sun when night trunks where at that time not running over weekends it was a very tight fit parking up.

I was cleaning out a room in the fitter's shop (upstairs-next to the top stores)and I came across this picture, it had no frame but I diddn't chuck it out with the rubbish, I tucked it behind some cabinets, it was about 3ftx2ft and I was going to ask for it but I forgot.
I'm now happily retired, after 41 years at Reeds/SCA/and those other clowns Sieca, it used to be a good place to work, until the said clowns took over.

Brilliant photos ????. Used to love the children's Christmas party !
My dad Frank (Ron) Griffin worked at Reeds/SCA for a number of years. He sadly passed away 2018.
