What a great photo. Wonder if it was a works outing ? Of interest to me as I believe my Dad, as a boy & his older sister worked at Eckersleys Mill
My mam worked at Eckersleys mill from 1930s to 1960s.
Not many flat caps here
What a wonderful photograph. It seems to capture the atmosphere of the day so well. Does anyone know where this might have been taken? The carriage looks to be part of of a pleasure train. The mature trees suggest it’s not a coastal location. The track, to my untutored eye appears to be narrow gauge. Any suggestions?
Maybe the Delph Tea Gardens, Parbold?
Could it be the narrow gauge at Southport.?
This is the only place that I could think of to place the following. A nice little video, relating to Crooke Village. Worth a ten minute watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXHUW5_t1tA
