A postcard showing Nottingham Goose Fair. One of the attractions is advertising the'WIGAN COLLIERY DISASTER' Which disaster? Could be the Maypole? and what it was showing is anyone's guess. Seems very odd

Ron - The main attraction appears to be President Kemp's 'Theatre Unique' Bioscope Show. Another almost identical photo (b/w) taken in 1909 - and probably just moments before the colour pic shown here had been taken, might go some way in identifying the Wigan colliery disaster. Further help might be had from John Anton's Fairground Amusements Heritage History site. Thanks.

The wording on the 'headboard', above the Wigan Colliery Disaster banner, reads: John Proctor's Royal Bioscope.
