Ron - The main attraction appears to be President Kemp's 'Theatre Unique' Bioscope Show. Another almost identical photo (b/w) taken in 1909 - and probably just moments before the colour pic shown here had been taken, might go some way in identifying the Wigan colliery disaster. Further help might be had from John Anton's Fairground Amusements Heritage History site. Thanks.

Nottingham Goose Fair was originally held on the Market Square in the centre of Nottingham. It later moved to the Forest Recreation Ground on the edge of Forest Fields and is still there ever october and is reputed to be the biggest travelling fair in Europe. I can imagine there will have been an element of solidarity from the Notts and Derby miners given the extensive industry they also had
