Several of these Eastern engines were allocated to the Manchester sheds at this time. With only three carriages and no head code, this was on a local.

A diesel banker to help i see

That isn't a banker. A local passenger pulled by a B1 hardly needs one. More than likely a mail van, or, if it is a diesel, it will be a dead one. Bankers were only used on long coal or freight trains, and usually were needed only on the loop.

the b1's where all allocated to agecroft where they where disliked as they replaced black fives.they did not last long at agecroft.
