Brilliant photo and remember the Queen of Industry by the Wigan Observer very much, in went on for years in the paper. In 1971, Nicholas Parsons hosted the TV show, Sale of the Century.

i think number 13 was very unlucky

It's all about opinions, like anything else.
The lady to the far right looks lovely, but that's my humble opinion, I'm not the Judge.

The young lady far left, must have represented, Harvey's Bakery.

And the young lady next to her Albert, both from Harvey's bakery. Good photo and great paper, good times W/Observer.

I'm probably wrong but I think the girl wearing No.13 was once "Miss Wigan Athletic"

They all look so wonderful, including Nicholas Parsons who is really handsome back then. I think these contests were held at Wigan Casino. There was always something exciting in the Wigan Observer back then.

Girl far right is June walker...she was miss Wigan athletic in 1973 when latics played Scarborough at Wembley...I used to give her a lift to work to Liverpool in the 80's and 90's..

The lady on the far right is June Walker married to Dave. She was a bridesmaid at our wedding in St Helens, Holy Cross Church. She worked at Mullards, Haydock in the 70’s
